LUIGI BOZZOLAN plays GIOACCHINO ROSSINI
"Petite messe solennelle"
piano solo
Luigi Bozzolan presents a solo piano concert dedicated to the Italian the genius Gioacchino Rossini and his "Petite messe solennelle", a masterpiece written for choir, two pianos and pedal organ in 1863.
Luigi's work is based on the transposition and elaboration of a number compositions extracted from the mass and then given new life along with innovative improvisation.
The result is a brave and refined tribute to Gioacchino Rossini; a concert between classical music and contemporary artistic research.

STENEN i
FORSEN (the stone in the fast flowing mountain stream) songs for two pianos
STENEN i FORSEN is the result of two parallel processes which were conceived
and executed in two diametrically opposite but complementary steps. Piano Primo was recorded first, followed by
the overdubbing of Piano Secondo. It is not a project in which one piano sets
down a harmonic grid over which the other performs solos (except for an
occasional moment of harmonic glue deliberately created to link the two parts).
The focus is on creating possibilities for a narrative dialogue and for a
grafting together of two different ways of conceiving music: one written; the
other unwritten. This parallel coexistence of the basically tonal-modal Piano
Primo with the predominantly atonal-amodal Piano Secondo plays a fundamental
role. This project is inspired by the movement of a fast-flowing
mountain stream around the stones in its water course. Piano Primo performs music composed and
written down in a score to be read and performed: the STONE. Piano Secondo has
no score; it recites no prescribed part. It flows spontaneously and
intuitively, constantly listening to and being shaped by Piano Primo. It is an
irritation caused by an eyelash or a plummet to earth whose energy carves out
its escape route: the WATER.
